Q: I really miss Percent Progress as a metric. What can I do?
Percent progress is back! You can view progress by clicking on your class and changing 'Show:' from 'Weekly' to 'Progress.'
Progress is a new metric that shows how much content a student has completed so far this year. To achieve 100% kids need to complete a number of puzzles based on their grade level.
- Pre Kindergarten: 750 puzzles
- Transitional Kindergarten: 1,000 puzzles
- Kindergarten and First Grade: 2,500 puzzles
- Grades 2-8: 3,000 puzzles
Q: What is 'Learner Velocity'?
Learner Velocity is a measure of how quickly students are moving through ST Math puzzles. Velocity is the number of puzzles completed in a given period of time divided by the number of minutes the student has spent on ST Math during that time period.
All students are different and there is no wrong learner velocity. Some students take their time to solve puzzles and others go quite quickly. Velocity can help you plan how much time your students will need to spend playing ST Math to hit their goals. For example, a student with a .67 learner velocity will take about two and a half hours to complete 100 puzzles while a student with a velocity of 1.1 will only take an hour and a half.
Q: What happens when a student completes a grade level?
When students complete their grade level curriculum the system will take them back to the first lesson in the journey for review and help solidify their learning. Since they completed those levels before, they won't earn extra puzzles for re-playing them, but they will earn minutes.
To move a student to a new grade level, follow these steps.
